In the aftermath of 9/11, the President of the United States directed that a framework be developed to enable the treatment of state and local governments as trusted partners in our nation’s efforts to combat terrorism. Today, key components of this framework include fusion and intelligence analysis centers. These centers have been established to help gather, process, analyze and disseminate information pertaining to terrorism, homeland security and law enforcement across states and major urban areas throughout the US.
As a national technology expert dedicated to the needs of first responders, criminal justice and health and human services practitioners, AIC has played an active role in developing the national guidelines and technology standards for fusion center operations, collaboration and information sharing.
